Kidney care in Uganda
SAS Dial Foundation funds haemodialysis, nephrology care and kidney screening for Ugandans who cannot meet the cost of treatment. The foundation carries forward the renal and haemodialysis programme begun at SAS Lweza Clinic, now as an independent organisation.
A kidney diagnosis is not always permanent. With early treatment and the right intervention, kidney function can recover. Acute kidney injury can resolve completely when it is treated in time, and chronic kidney disease found early can be slowed or halted before dialysis is needed.
December concert in Kampala
The foundation is working with Cedar Park on an annual fundraising concert in December 2026, at Kigo on Munyonyo Road in Kampala. The evening brings live music together with the case for affordable kidney care, and the proceeds go to the dialysis programme.

Kidney failure and its cost
A patient in end stage kidney disease needs haemodialysis several times a week, for life or until a transplant.
In Uganda the treatment is available. For most families the cost of sustaining it is beyond reach.

Subsidised dialysis
Haemodialysis for patients with acute kidney injury and end stage kidney disease who cannot meet the full cost of treatment.
Early screening
Chronic disease screening in the community around the clinic, to find kidney disease before it becomes irreversible.
Nephrology care
Specialist consultations, chronic kidney disease management and tunnelled dialysis catheter placement as the programme expands.
Capacity and training
Training to strengthen the renal skills of the clinical team.
The clinic and the foundation
The renal clinic and haemodialysis programme was launched and hosted by SAS Lweza Clinic in Seguku, which remains the clinical partner where treatment is delivered. The foundation funds the subsidised treatment.
